Personally, I think Steven is very self-centered in the beginning of the novel. He only worries about himself and his problems. For example, when Jeffery falls and has to go to the hospital, he worries all day that he's going to get in trouble and isn't even thinking that maybe his brother could really be hurt.

Steven is a very uneasy person. He is always worrying about something. For example, "I don't know about you, but when I'm nervous about something, I tend to think about it all day."
He is also a very good drummer who has a constant practice schedule. He is always practicing and thats shows responsibility.
I think Steven will try to help take care of his brother, but you know teenagers.

Steven is the type of person that is dedicated to what he does. An example would be his drums. He wants to be really good, so he practices.
Also, Steven is caring. When he finds out his little brother has Leukemia he feels horible, and tries to find something he did that would of caused his brother to get cancer.
I think Steven will be there for his little brother no matter what in the future chapters, and i think he is going to have a hard time.

Steven doesn't have very much self respect. For example, he lists in his plan of the most annoying thing in the world is being a skinny geek in which he is refering to himself as being a skinny geek.
Steven is jealous of his little brother, Jeffery. He says his brother is like the king and he was demoted to vice king.
Steven takes Jeffery's major nosebleed (which he fell off a stool while Steven was making his breckfast to get) and only hopes he doesn't get in trouble for it. I think that later on in the story that he will take Jeffery's sickness more seriously.

I think that he is being selfish at the begining. I think this because when his mother tells him that his brother has cancer he is releaved that he isnt in trouble. I think that at the begining he will be selfish but deep down he really cares for his brother and will act very mature and helpful to his brother and his condition.

Steven is a very complex guy. Sometimes he can be very considerate towards others. For example: Even though Steven first felt relef when he found out that his brother had cancer, he later realized that Jeffery having cancer was a very serious issue. He said that he regreted that his first thought was relief.

Steven considers himself as Jeffery's protector. He has to keep an eye out for him. Now that Jeffery has cancer, he will need to do all that he can do to help out his parents and to make Jeffery happy. Steven knows he owes Jeffery that much.

I believe that Steven is a very determined and talented person. He is very determined since he practices his drums at very early in the morning. Talented, since he is very good at the drums because of his determination. I believe that because of his brothers illness that he will not be trying to do something to help his brother for a long time and he’ll never give up hope about him being cured.

I think that Steven is a good person. He is a good brother to Jeffrey, even if he gets annoyed by him easily. Steven tries to be nice to people even if they are not nice to him. He tries to help Jeffrey when he needs it and tries to be his "protector", even if it leads to trouble for him.

When Jeffrey falls off the kitchen stool and gets a nose bleed, Steven is worried about Jeffrey because his mother took the injury seriously, unlike any other time.
I think Steven will worry and be concerned about Jeffrey. Cry when he finds out, try to pretend that it isn't true. Anything to make his life right again.

"C'mon, Jeffrey! It's a little nose bleed, that's all."

Little did Steven know, it turns out to be much, much worse.

Steven is an all around good guy. He cares about his brother more than he knows.
One aspect of Steven's personaility is that when he does something he wants to be the best at it. With his drumming he practices everyday. Another aspect of Steven's presonaility is that his self esteem is not very high. He doesn't think highly of him self or even good of him self except for the fact that he is good at the drums. Steven also gets annoyed every once in a while. Another aspect is that when Steven is worried or stressed about something he thinks about it all day.
I think Steven will take Jeffery's illness in a hard way. He loves his brother even if he doesn't think he does. He will worry about his brother and will not want everybody at school to know about it.

Steven seems like a generally nice person. He really cares about his brother, even if he doesn't realize it most of the time. Steven is also a very hard worker.
One aspect of Steven's personality is that he likes to be able to do things well. He doesn't like to do things half way. Another aspect of Steven's personality is that he gets annoyed very easily. One example is when he gets annoyed that his entire family is yelling when Jeffery has the nose bleed. "What's with this family and all the CAPS?" Steven thought.
I think that Steven will respond to his brother's illness by freaking out. He will worry a lot about him and feel really bad about all the things that he has ever done that wasn't nice to Jeffery. He will also probably be really sad about it. Steven probably won't want everyone at school to find out about it because he wouldn't want people to feel sorry for him.

Steven has a lot of dirrerent personalities in this story. He is very serious when it comes to music. He is always practicing for his band.
Steven usually puts himself before other people. When his brother fell off the stool, all he was worring about was getting in trouble. He never thought about how his brother felt.
When Steven found out that his brother had cancer, he was very relieved that he wasn't going to get in trouble for the nose bleed. After a while, it occured to him that his brother might really be hurting. I think that he is going to care more in the up coming chapters.

Steven is very determined and persistent. On pages 13-14, when he wakes up early, Steven goes to his dad’s office and practices his drumming. Also, on page 29, it says that during his Opportunity Period, Steven uses his time to take drum lessons from the band teacher. This shows that Steven is dedicated to his work. He is also caring and kind. On page 14, when his brother, Jeffery, asks Steven to fix breakfast for him, he stopped what he was doing to make the oatmeal.

I think that Jeffery’s illness will be hard on Steven. Even though he was relieved when his mom told him that Jeffery had cancer, Steven will probably feel guilty about it later on.

Steven is a very caring and outgoing person. Steven is very caring when his brother fall's off the high bar stool. He is caring because he knows that his brother could be hurt and that he wasn't suposed to leave him up there alone without anybody being near Jeffery. Also, he know's that his brother only has a nose bleed but he is very considerate to his brothers feelings. Steven is very outgoing because he practices his drums constantly and wants to play to the best of his ability, in the All-City band and just for himself. I think Steven will respond to his brother's illness by not caring for himself as much and caring for Jeffery more. In addition, when his brother has to go through therapy and treatment, Steven will think about how his brother just wanted to be like him, and was not meaning to annoy him.

I think Steven is a caring, yet worryful type of person. Even though he doesn't necessarily worry about the right things, he still worries. The same is with his caring side. He cares about his drumming, Renee Albert, and some of his family. In the future, I think Steven will be in denile about Jeffrey's illness until he finally wakes up into the real world and sees that his brother is actually dangerously sick.

Steven is a determined and persistent kind of person. For example, on page 29, it talks about how Steven is almost always in the band room during O.P. to practice his drumming skills. Steven is also a caring and thoughtful person. For instance, on pages 14-16, it talks about how Steven was practicing his drums and his brother comes in and wants Steven to make him breakfast. Steven ended up stopping what he was doing to do what his brother wanted.
I think that Steven will take his brother's illness kind of hard. He was a little upset that Jeffrey had gotten sick, but he was a little jealous at the same time. He was upset that all of his family got to go to the big city except him, even though it wasn't for a good reason.

Steven is a good person but it seems like in some peoples' eyes he is a huge nerd. At times it seems like he spaces out, like in English he always writes off topic because he doesn't listen to the teacher. Whatever he thinks about he writes about.

Steven is active in extra-curicluar activities. For example, he plays the drums in the school band and the all-city jazz band.

I think Steven will have a bad reaction to the news of his brother having cancer. I also think the news will affect not only his life, but also his school work. Jeffrey's cancer will definaltly change Steven's life forever.

I think Steven is a very dedicated person. Especially when it comes to his drumming. For example, "He really had snuck up on me:my drumming concentration can be pretty feirce."
I think that Steven needs to build his self esteem. He is a great brother and a good drummer. He also cares about his brother more than he will let himself realize.

To me Steven is kind of uneasy. He just seems like an off beat person to me. I also think that he is self-centered in the beginning because of the fact is first thought when he figured out his brother had cancer, was relif.

I agree with Albert C., but I think Steven also seems very stressed about something all the time. Like Xavier H. said, he says,"I don't know about you, but when I'm nervous about something, I tend to thingk about it all day."

I think that Steven is the kind of person that is dedicated to what he does. He is always praticing his drums to make himself better. You can tell that he is dedicated to drumming because he pratices his drums alot and it pays off because he gets asked to play in the All-city band.Later on in the story it also shows that Steven is caring. When his brother falls off the stool he didn't really know that it was so bad, but when he finds out that he has leaukemia he feels really bad for him. At school thats all he thinks about is what Jeffery in goin through. He makes him self think that the doctors are wrong and that his mom and Jeffery are goin to come back and tell them that it was all a mistake. That shows that he is caring because he is wishing that Jeffery doesn't have leaukemia.
